Anthropic has released Claude Security as a public beta, giving healthcare IT teams and medical device security professionals a dedicated platform to test and verify the safety of Claude AI interactions. The tool allows security teams to run structured evaluations against the model, checking for prompt injection, data leakage, and alignment with internal policies before deployment. For healthcare, where AI is increasingly used in clinical decision support, patient data analysis, and medical device interfaces, this tool addresses critical concerns such as HIPAA compliance and patient safety. Prompt injection risks could expose protected health information (PHI), while data leakage from AI models might violate regulations and erode patient trust. The tool enables hospital IT teams to scan for vulnerabilities specific to clinical workflows, such as unintended disclosure of diagnosis data or unauthorized access to electronic health records (EHRs).
