Breach Origin and Impact
Absolute Dental Group, a Nevada based dental care provider, experienced a major data breach in early 2025 after attackers gained access to its network through an account belonging to Judge Consulting, its managed services provider. The unauthorized access lasted from February 19 to March 5, 2025. The breach exposed the sensitive data of over 1.2 million individuals, including names, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, health insurance information, and financial details.
Settlement Terms and Class Action Claims
A consolidated class action lawsuit, Jordan et al. v. Absolute Dental Group, LLC, et al., alleged that the defendants failed to secure patient data, monitor systems properly, and provide timely breach notifications. After mediation, the parties agreed to a $3.3 million settlement without admission of wrongdoing. Affected individuals can claim reimbursement for documented losses up to $5,000 or opt for a pro rata cash payment. California residents qualify for an additional cash payment. Claims must be submitted by June 18, 2026.
