The deal lets affected individuals receive up to $5,000 and one year of free medical records monitoring, according to Maine Public.
The incident unfolded between March and June, prompting the health system to notify more than 218,000 people that a third party may have accessed their personal information. A final approval hearing is scheduled for the end of October at Androscoggin County Superior Court.
The settlement closes a chapter for the nonprofit system, which serves roughly 400,000 residents across central and western Maine. Claim forms and case details are available on a website dedicated to the settlement.
