AngMar Management Services, a home health and hospice management company based in Mansfield, Texas, has begun notifying patients about an intrusion that reached its systems for two days in July.
The company spotted unauthorized access on July 20 and traced it to files touched around July 18. A review finished September 8 confirmed that names, addresses, birth dates, Social Security numbers, patient IDs, medical record numbers, insurance details, service dates, diagnoses, provider names, prescriptions, and medical histories may have been exposed.
Texas regulators were told that the personal and protected health information of 35,916 residents was potentially compromised. The total count has not been published.
The Interlock ransomware group added AngMar to its dark web leak site in August and claimed it pulled 710 GB of data. The company has not publicly confirmed the group’s role, but the intrusion has the hallmarks of a ransomware theft.
AngMar said it added security measures and is offering affected patients complimentary credit monitoring.
The notice lands as health systems keep absorbing attacks aimed at the vendors and back-office operators that hold patient data. Interlock has claimed several healthcare victims this year, including a South Jersey kidney practice.
